About Us
Potter Valley Youth and Community Center (PVYCC), a non-profit organization, was established in 1995; since then we have grown into a Family Resource Center for the greater Potter Valley area.
PVYCC runs a very successful After School Program in conjunction with Potter Valley Community Unified School District, providing a safe environment where students can receive homework help, tutoring and a quiet place to study. All after school programs are free and open to students 5 days a week. Volunteers can teach classes in cooking, computers, karate, health, science, crafts, fitness & more!
PVYCC's Family Resource Center offers outreach services such as: Medi-Cal and CalFRESH enrollment. We have also developed a child care enrichment program; our afternoon preschool is open 5 days a week. Parenting classes are also available. We also have a meeting room that is open for all members of the community. It is perfect for an exercise class, and community or club meetings. We currently offer Yoga classes for adults.
Potter Valley Youth and Community Center has a strong partnership with the Potter Valley Schools and several local partners including: Potter Valley Community parks and Recreation, the Rodeo Association, the Potter Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Redwood Children’s Services, Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency, FIRST 5, the Child Abuse Prevention Council and the Family Resource Center of Mendocino County.
